Puerto Pizarro is a lovely resort town. It is located about thirteen miles from the city of Tumbes, Peru. Most people living here are fishermen. Others collect seashells from the ocean.
Fun Things to Do in Puerto Pizarro
Puerto Pizarro is a great place for tourists. The water here is not very deep. This makes it perfect for fun water sports. You can try windsurfing, water skiing, or go boating.
This town is also the starting point for a special trip. You can visit the Tumbes Mangals National Sanctuary. This is a protected area with amazing mangrove forests. Local guides can take you on boat trips. You will explore nearby islands. On these trips, you can see lots of wild animals.
Meet the Crocodiles!
Another exciting place to visit is the Tumbes crocodile hatching center. Here, you can see crocodiles at every stage of their lives. You can watch them from tiny eggs to big adults. This area is very important. It is one of the last places where you can see the Tumbes Crocodile. This type of crocodile is in danger of disappearing.

Puerto Pizarro has a warm climate all year round. The hottest months are usually from January to April. Temperatures can reach over 31 degrees Celsius (88 degrees Fahrenheit). The coolest months are July and August. Even then, temperatures are still pleasant, around 27 degrees Celsius (81 degrees Fahrenheit).
The area gets most of its rain in February and March. Other months are much drier. This makes it a great place to visit for sunshine and warm weather.
