Pulau Ayu is a very small island in Indonesia. It is located in the West Papua province. The island is part of a group of islands called the Ayu Islands.
Pulau Ayu has two main towns. These towns are named Imbik Kuan and Ayu. A large reef surrounds the island. Because of this reef, only small boats can safely reach the island's shores.

World War Two Impact
During World War Two, Pulau Ayu was taken over by Japan. World War Two was a very large global conflict. Japan's army controlled the island for a time. This occupation was part of the wider war in the Pacific Ocean.
