The Pulsarella cognata is a type of sea snail. It's a small mollusk that lives in the ocean. This snail belongs to a group called gastropods and is part of the family Borsoniidae.
What Does It Look Like?
The shell of the Pulsarella cognata can grow up to about 24 millimeters (almost an inch) long. It is about 7 millimeters wide. This snail's shell is usually a yellowish-white color. Near the top, it might have a slight purple tint.
The shell has special raised ridges, called carinae, which are white. There are usually twelve of these ridges. The top part of the shell, called the spire, is quite tall and pointed.
Where Does It Live?
This sea snail lives only in the waters around Australia. It is found in the ocean off the coasts of New South Wales and Queensland. When an animal or plant lives only in one specific area, it is called endemic to that place.
