Where is Puntas de Valdez Located?
Puntas de Valdez is found in southern Uruguay. It sits right on Route 1, which is an important road. The village is about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) west of where Route 1 crosses Route 45.
It is also about 61 kilometers (38 miles) away from the center of Montevideo. Montevideo is the capital city of Uruguay. The very beginning of the Arroyo Valdez river is located to the west of the village.

Puntas de Valdez has grown over the years. On November 14, 1974, something important happened for the village. Its official status was changed to "Pueblo," which means "village" in Spanish. This change was made by a special law called Ley Nº 14.296.
