Purity Ngina is a smart Kenyan academician. She is currently the CEO of the National Gender and Equality Commission. Before this, she taught at Strathmore University in Nairobi from 2016 to 2020. She also worked at Zizi Afrique Foundation. When she was 28, she became the youngest person in Kenya to get a PhD in biomathematics. This is a very high university degree!

Early Life and Background
Purity Ngina was born in 1990 in Nyeri County, a countryside area in Kenya. She grew up with her older brother and their mother. Purity took her primary school exams, called the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, in 2002 and again in 2003. After that, she went to high school and finished in 2007.
Education and Career Journey
University Studies
In 2009, Purity started studying at Egerton University. She worked very hard and finished with top grades in 2013. She earned degrees in education science and mathematics. Then, in 2015, she got her master's degree in applied mathematics from Egerton University.
Teaching and Research
In 2016, Purity became an assistant teacher, called a lecturer, at Strathmore University. She taught students about finance, economics, and actuarial science. She received money from The German Academic Exchange Service to help her study for her PhD.
In 2018, when she was 28 years old, Purity Ngina made history. She became Kenya's youngest person to earn a PhD in biomathematics. Her special research for her PhD was about the mathematics of HIV.
Purity Ngina is married to Germano Mugambi, who is also a university lecturer at Egerton University.
