Discovering the Pyongyang Metro
The Pyongyang Metro is the only subway system in the city of Pyongyang. It's a very important way for people to travel. Every day, between 300,000 and 700,000 people use these trains! That's a lot of passengers.
How Many Lines and Stations?
The metro system has two main lines. Think of them as two different routes on a map. These lines connect 17 different stations across the city.
The Chŏllima Line (Red)
This line is often called the "red line." It has eight stations:
- Pulgunbyol
- Chonu
- Kaeson
- Tongil
- Sungni
- Ponghwa
- Yonggwang
- Puhung
The Hyoksin Line (Green)
This line is known as the "green line." It has nine stations:
- Kwangbok
- Konguk
- Hwaggumbol
- Konsol
- Hyoksin
- Chonsung
- Samhung
- Kwangmyong
- Rakwon
