Quanera Hayes (born March 7, 1992) is an American sprinter. A sprinter is an athlete who runs short, fast races. Quanera is best known for running the 400 meters. This is a race around one lap of a standard outdoor track.
She has won many gold medals for the United States. These wins often came in the 4 × 400 meter relay race. In this race, four runners each run 400 meters. Quanera won gold at the World Championships and the World Relays in 2017. She also won gold at the World Indoor Championships in 2016 and 2018.
In 2016, she earned a bronze medal in the 400 meters at the World Indoor Championships. Quanera also became the champion of the 400 meters at the 2020 US Olympic Trials. She was also the champion of the 2021 Diamond League in the 400 meters.
