About Quba Mosque
The Quba Mosque is a significant landmark for Muslims. It holds a special place in history because it was the first mosque ever built. The mosque is located just outside the main city of Medina. Many people visit it every year.
History of the Mosque
The original Quba Mosque was built in the year 622 CE. This was when Prophet Muhammad and his followers arrived in the area of Quba. They stopped there before entering Medina. Prophet Muhammad himself helped to lay the first stones of the mosque. His friends also helped a lot with the building work.
Over many centuries, the mosque has been changed and made bigger. An early leader named Umar II added a tall tower, called a minaret. He also made the mosque larger to fit more people. Later, a powerful ruler named Suleiman the Magnificent rebuilt the mosque after it was damaged. The mosque you see today was mostly completed in 1986. It has a beautiful design with six domes and four minarets.
