Joaquim Monzó i Gómez (born on March 15, 1952), known as Quim Monzó, is a Spanish writer. He writes novels, short stories, and other types of writing, mostly in the Catalan language.
In the early 1970s, Quim Monzó worked as a journalist. He reported from places like Vietnam, Cambodia, and Northern Ireland. He lives in Barcelona and writes regularly for a newspaper called La Vanguardia.

Quim Monzó's Writing Style
Quim Monzó's stories often include ideas from pop culture. He also uses a lot of irony and humor in his writing. His essays, which are non-fiction writings, are also very funny.
One of his essay collections, Catorze ciutats comptant-hi Brooklyn, talks about New York City. It describes the city right after the events of September 11, 2001. Quim Monzó also helped write the script for the movie Jamón, jamón. He also wrote a play called El tango de Don Joan.
