Quincy Dodd (born 13 April 2000) is an Australian rugby league player. She plays for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks Women in the NRL Women's Premiership.
Quincy can play as a hooker (hooker) or halfback (halfback). She has also represented the state of New South Wales.
Quincy's Early Life and Start in Rugby League
Quincy Dodd was born in Kogarah, New South Wales. She grew up playing junior rugby league for the Cronulla-Caringbah team.
Playing for the Sharks Junior Team
In 2017 and 2018, Quincy played for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the Tarsha Gale Cup. This is a competition for young female rugby league players. Her father, Colin, was the coach of her team.
Representing New South Wales City
In May 2018, Quincy was chosen to play for the NSW City team. This was part of the Women's National Championships. In June 2018, she was also a reserve player for the main New South Wales team.
First Steps in Professional Rugby League
In September 2018, Quincy joined the Sydney Roosters team in the NRL Women's Premiership. This is a top-level competition for women's rugby league. She did not play a game that season. On 6 October 2018, she played for the Prime Minister's XIII team. They won their game against Papua New Guinea.
Quincy's Journey in the NRLW
2019: Debut Season and All Stars Game
On 15 February 2019, Quincy played as a five-eighth (five-eighth) for the Indigenous All Stars team. They played against the Maori All Stars. In June, she again played for NSW City at the Women's National Championships.
Quincy made her official NRLW debut for the Roosters in Round 3 of the 2019 NRL Women's season. On 11 October, she played as a halfback (halfback) for the Prime Minister's XIII. They won their game against the Fiji Prime Minister's XIII.
2020: Grand Final and State of Origin Debut
On 22 February 2020, Quincy came off the bench for the Indigenous All Stars. They won their game against the Maori All Stars. In March, Quincy joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs team in the NSWRL Women's Premiership.
On 25 October, Quincy played in the NRLW Grand Final for the Roosters. She scored a try in the game. On 13 November, Quincy made her State of Origin debut. She played for New South Wales against Queensland.
2021: Third All Stars Appearance
On 20 February 2021, Quincy played for the Indigenous All Stars for the third time. They played against the Māori All Stars. In March, she returned to play for the Sharks in the 2021 NSWRL Women's Premiership season.
2022: Playing for the Roosters
Quincy continued her career playing for the Roosters during the 2022 season.
2023: Becoming an NRLW Shark
In 2023, Quincy made history by becoming the first player to sign with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks Women for their new NRLW team. This was a big moment for both Quincy and the Sharks club. You can read more about it here: Quincy signs on as NRLW Shark #1.
