Radio West Fife is a special radio station in Scotland. It is one of the oldest radio stations that broadcasts to hospitals. This means it plays music and shows for patients in Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.

The station started a long time ago, in September 1953. Back then, it broadcast from a small shed at the West Fife Hospital. Over the years, it has grown a lot. This happened because its members worked hard to raise money. They also got help from sponsors.

In the beginning, Radio West Fife mostly played live football games. These were from Dunfermline Athletic Football Club at East End Park. Now, the station plays a mix of music. It also has special shows, including religious programmes.

After the shed, the station moved to a caravan at Milesmark Hospital. Then, in 1993, it moved to the grounds of Lynebank Hospital.

Some students from St Columbus High School help out at Radio West Fife. They volunteer as part of their school's community programmes.

On March 23, 2012, the station started broadcasting online. This made it a community radio station, reaching more people. In May 2020, Radio West Fife got an FM license from Ofcom. This means they can now broadcast on regular radio waves too.

Where Radio West Fife Broadcasts From

Radio West Fife is now based at Rosyth Business Centre. They moved there in 2019 from their studio at Queen Margaret Hospital. The hospital was being re-developed, so they needed a new home. The station started broadcasting from Rosyth in February 2020.
