Ragersville was started in 1830 by a man named Conrad Rager. He "platted" the community, which means he drew the first map showing where the streets and building lots would be. The community was named after him. Later, in 1880, a post office was opened in Ragersville. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages for many years until it closed in 1955.
