A Look Back in Time
Rainsboro got its name from a person named John Rains. He was the first owner of the land where the community now stands. A post office opened in Rainsboro in 1893. This was a place where people could send and receive mail. It served the community for many years, but it closed down in 1966.

A very important person, Joseph B. Foraker, was born close to Rainsboro in 1846. He later became the 37th Governor of Ohio. A governor is the leader of a state's government.
