Ralph Lewis's Basketball Journey

College Basketball Career

Ralph Lewis played basketball for four years at La Salle University. During his time there, he scored a total of 1,807 points. This means he averaged about 15.6 points per game.

He was recognized as one of the best players in his conference. He made the First Team All-MAAC in both the 1983–1984 and 1984–1985 seasons. He was also named to the First Team All-Big 5 in 1984 and 1985.

In 1984, Ralph received the Geasey Award. This award is given to the best player in the Big 5. That same year, he helped his team, the La Salle Explorers, become Big 5 co-champions. Later, Ralph was honored by being inducted into the La Salle Hall of Athletes in 1990. He also joined the Big 5 Hall of Fame in 1991.

Playing in the NBA

After his successful college career, Ralph Lewis was chosen by the Boston Celtics in the 1985 NBA draft. He started his professional career in 1987 with the Detroit Pistons. He also played for the Charlotte Hornets during his time in the NBA.

Coaching Basketball

After his playing days, Ralph Lewis became a basketball coach. In 2005, he joined the Seattle SuperSonics as an assistant coach.

Before working with the SuperSonics, he was the head coach for the NBA Development League team, the Huntsville Flight. He coached them for three seasons. During that time, his team won 73 games and lost 71 games. On December 26, 2010, Ralph Lewis became one of three assistant coaches for the Charlotte Bobcats. He worked under the interim head coach, Paul Silas.
