Anders Edvard Ramsay (also known as Russian: Эдуард Андреевич Рамзай) was a Scottish-Russian general. A general is a very high-ranking officer in the army. He was also an adjutant general in the Russian Empire Army. This means he was a senior assistant to a high-ranking military commander.
Anders Edvard Ramsay served during the Crimean War. This was a big conflict that took place in the mid-1800s. He was involved in battles around the Baltic Sea.
Georg Eduardovich Ramsay (1834 – 1918)
Georg Eduardovich Ramsay (also known as Russian: Георгий Эдуардович Рамзай) was the son of Anders Edvard Ramsay. Like his father, he also became a general in the Russian Empire Army. He was also an adjutant general.
Georg Eduardovich Ramsay was a commander of the 3rd Battalion of the Imperial Finland Guard Regiment. He led these soldiers during the Russo-Turkish War (1877–1878). After that war, in 1877, he became the commander of the Lifeguard Semyonovsky Regiment. This was another important military unit.
