Ramón Cabrero Muñíz was a famous Spanish-Argentine footballer and manager. He was born in Santander, Spain, on November 7, 1947. When he was just 4 years old, his family moved to Argentina.

Ramón Cabrero became a very important figure for the Lanús football club. Many people remember him as one of their greatest heroes. He passed away on November 1, 2017.

Ramón Cabrero's Playing Career

Ramón Cabrero started his football journey playing for Lanús. He played there for five years. After that, he joined another team called Newell's Old Boys.

Playing in Spain

Cabrero then moved to Spain. He played for three different clubs there:

Returning to Argentina

After his time in Spain, Ramón Cabrero came back to Argentina. He played in the Mendoza region for two more teams:

After he stopped playing, Ramón Cabrero became a football manager. This means he was in charge of coaching teams.

Early Success as a Manager

His first big success as a manager happened in 1986. He led the team Deportivo Italiano to win the Primera B Nacional title. This win helped them move up to the Primera División Argentina, which is the top football league in Argentina.

Winning with Lanús

In 2007, Ramón Cabrero achieved something amazing with Lanús. He led them to win their first-ever top league championship. This was the Primera División Argentina Apertura 2007 title. This was a huge moment for the club and its fans.

In May 2009, Cabrero took on a new challenge. He became the manager of Atlético Nacional in Medellín, Colombia. He stayed there until April 5, 2010.
