This is the house in Sofia where Ran Bosilek lived and worked for many years, from 1923 to 1958.
Ran Bosilek (whose real name was Gencho Stanchev Negentsov) was a famous Bulgarian writer. He was born on September 26, 1886, in a town called Gabrovo. He became well-known for writing many wonderful books especially for children.
Ran Bosilek passed away on October 8, 1958, in Sofia. Just a few years before he died, in 1955, he helped bring a very popular children's story to Bulgaria. He translated the book "Karlsson-on-the-Roof" by the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren into Bulgarian. This helped many Bulgarian children enjoy the adventures of Karlsson.
