What is a Spiny-Chested Percher?
The spiny-chested percher is a small and interesting dragonfly. When it is young, it has a shiny, metallic-black body. As it grows older, its body gets covered in a light, powdery blue layer. This makes it look quite different from when it was younger.
Where Does It Live?
This special dragonfly lives in several countries in Asia and Australia. You can find it in Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and New Guinea. It also lives in Australia, mainly in the northern part called Cape York, Queensland.
In Australia, the spiny-chested percher is the only species from its group, Raphismia. It likes to live in places called mangrove swamps. These are special coastal areas where trees grow in salty water.
