Raymonde April OC (born June 23, 1953) is a famous Canadian artist and photographer. She is also a teacher. Raymonde April lives in Montreal, where she teaches photography at Concordia University. Early Life and Education
Raymonde April was born in Moncton, New Brunswick. She grew up in a town called Rivière-du-Loup in Eastern Quebec. From a young age, she loved art. She went to several art schools to learn more. She studied at the art college in Rivière-du-Loup. She also attended the École des arts visuels at the Université Laval in Québec.
Her Work as a Photographer
Raymonde April has been a photographer since the 1970s. She is known for telling stories with her pictures. She takes photos of everyday life. She turns normal moments into powerful images. Her work often includes portraits of people and beautiful landscapes.
She has taught photography at Concordia University since 1985. She also helped start La Chambre Blanche. This is a special place in Québec where artists can create and share their work.
