Razzles facts for kids
Razzles are a unique candy that changes into chewing gum as you chew it! Imagine starting with a sweet treat and ending up with a bubble-blowing gum. It's like two treats in one!
The Story of Razzles
Razzles first appeared in 1966. Their catchy jingle said, "First it's a candy, then it's a gum. Little round Razzles are so much fun." The very first flavor was raspberry.
The name "Razzles" came from a made-up flavor called "Razzleberry." This flavor was planned but never actually made. Other planned flavors that didn't happen include "Zuzzleberry Zash" and "Tropical Tash."
A company called Concord Confections was started in 1986. Sometime after that, they bought the Razzles brand. More fruit flavors were added to the original raspberry, such as orange, lemon, and grape. Later, special "tropical fruit" and "sour" packs were also added.
In 2004, a bigger company called Tootsie Roll Industries bought Concord Confections. This meant Razzles became part of the Tootsie Roll family of candies. Razzles were first made by a company called Fleer, which also made Dubble Bubble gum. Both Razzles and Dubble Bubble were later sold to Concord Confections.
