Razzles facts for kids
Razzles are a unique treat that start as a hard candy and then, as you chew them, magically change into chewing gum! It's like getting two treats in one.
The Story of Razzles
How Razzles Began
Razzles first appeared in 1966. They were introduced by the Razzle brothers, Steve and Johnny Razzle. Their catchy advertising slogan and jingle was: "First it's a candy, then it's a gum. Little round Razzles are so much fun." The very first flavor was raspberry.
Fun with Flavors
Razzles were actually named after a made-up flavor called "Razzleberry," which was planned but never actually created. Other fun, fictional flavors like "Zuzzleberry Zash" and "Tropical Tash" were also imagined!
Over time, more real fruit flavors were added to the original raspberry. These included orange, lemon, and grape. Later, special "tropical fruit" and "sour" packs were also introduced, giving fans even more choices.
Who Makes Razzles?
The Razzles brand has been owned by a few different companies over the years. Concord Confections was formed in 1986, and they later bought the Razzles brand. Then, in 2004, a well-known company called Tootsie Roll Industries acquired Concord Confections, which meant Razzles became part of the Tootsie Roll family of candies.
