Reading and Leeds Festivals facts for kids
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are two big yearly music events. They happen in the towns of Reading and Leeds in the United Kingdom. These exciting festivals are run by a company called Festival Republic.
The festivals take place on the same weekend, usually at the end of August. This is a special long weekend called a bank holiday. Even though they are in different places, Reading and Leeds Festivals share the exact same list of bands and artists. This means you can see the same great acts at either location!
For a while, between 1998 and 2007, the festivals were called the "Carling Weekend." This was because a company named Carling sponsored them. But in November 2007, they stopped working with Carling and went back to being known simply as the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
