Professional wrestling career

WWE (2020–2024)

First appearances and 24/7 Champion (2020–2022)

On January 14, 2020, Sidney Bateman signed a contract with WWE. He first appeared on the December 11 episode of SmackDown. He used the wrestling name Reginald Thomas, which was soon shortened to Reginald. He played the part of a French wine expert for wrestler Carmella. He helped her during her storyline with Sasha Banks.

On January 22, 2021, Reginald had his first wrestling match. He faced Sasha Banks but lost. His partnership with Carmella ended on March 5 when she fired him. After a short time with Sasha Banks, Reginald then managed the team of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. But on July 19, they turned against him. Later that night, he won the WWE 24/7 Championship by pinning Akira Tozawa. This was his first title win in WWE.

On July 30, his wrestling name was shortened to Reggie. He also stopped using the French accent. He explained he was not really French. He had only pretended to be because Carmella needed a wine expert. This helped him get his start in WWE. On September 25, 2021, he became the longest-reigning 24/7 Champion.

On November 8, Reggie lost the 24/7 Championship to Drake Maverick. His reign ended after 112 days. However, he won the title back from Maverick just a minute later. On November 22, Reggie lost the title again to Cedric Alexander. This ended his second time as champion after 12 days.

After losing the title, Reggie helped Dana Brooke keep her 24/7 title for several months. He asked her out on Valentine's Day 2022, but she said no. He then pinned Brooke to win the title for the third time. A week later, Reggie lost the title back to Brooke. He laid down in the ring, letting her pin him. They later started a storyline relationship. Reggie continued to help her keep the title.

On March 28, they had a storyline engagement. On April 18, during their storyline wedding, Reggie pinned Dana Brooke. He won his fourth 24/7 title. He lost it to Tamina shortly after. On May 2, Brooke lost the 24/7 title to Nikki A.S.H. backstage. Brooke soon won the title back. This was Reggie's last appearance before taking a break.

Moving to NXT (2022–2024)

In late October, mysterious short videos started playing on NXT. They featured a person using the name Scrypts. This character seemed rebellious. He claimed to have amazing skills and would change NXT. More videos aired over the next few weeks.

On November 22, Reggie debuted on NXT as the mysterious Scrypts. He defeated Guru Raaj. This changed his wrestling name and character. While in NXT, he had rivalries with Ikemen Jiro and Axiom. Axiom unmasked him on May 2. After that, Scrypts became a good guy and started working with Axiom as a tag team.

On July 18, Scrypts turned against Axiom. He joined Bronco Nima and Lucien Price. He became a bad guy and formed a group called Out The Mud (O.T.M.). On May 1, 2024, it was announced that Sidney Bateman would be leaving WWE on June 1.
