Regina Ashford Barrow is an American politician. She is a member of the Louisiana State Senate. She represents the 15th district in Louisiana. She was elected in November 2015. She started her job on January 11, 2016. Before this, Ms. Barrow was in the Louisiana House of Representatives. She represented the 29th district from 2005 to 2016.
Her Early Life and Education
Regina Barrow was born in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. She grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She studied accounting at the Baton Rouge School of Computers. There, she earned a special degree called an associate degree. She also went to Southern University.
Her Career in Politics
From 1998 to 2005, Ms. Barrow was the leader of an organization. It was called Rise Up Louisiana. After that, she worked for Sharon Weston Broome. She helped her with legislative tasks.
Ms. Barrow became a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives in 2005. She served there until 2016. Then, she was elected to the Louisiana State Senate.
Since 2019, she has also been a leader in the Senate. She is the vice chair of the Health & Welfare Committee. In this role, Ms. Barrow helped create a new rule. This rule makes sure that female prisoners in Louisiana have access to important hygiene products.
