Regina Ashford Barrow is an American politician. She is a member of the Louisiana State Senate, representing the 15th district. She was first elected in November 2015 and started her term on January 11, 2016. Before this, Ms. Barrow served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2005 to 2016.
About Regina Barrow
Early Life and School
Regina Barrow was born in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. She grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She studied accounting at the Baton Rouge School of Computers. There, she earned an associate degree. She also attended Southern University.
Her Work in Politics
From 1998 to 2005, Regina Barrow was the executive director of an organization called Rise Up Louisiana. After that, she worked as a legislative assistant for Sharon Weston Broome.
Ms. Barrow was a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for many years, from 2005 to 2016. In 2016, she was elected to the Louisiana State Senate.
Since 2019, she has also been the vice chair of the Senate Health & Welfare Committee. In this role, she has worked on important laws. For example, she helped pass a law that makes sure female prisoners in Louisiana state prisons have access to feminine hygiene products.
