Reginald Vaughn Finley Sr. (born in 1974) is an American who works as a skeptic, activist, and online host. He helps people think clearly and understand science better.

Finley follows in the footsteps of his great-grandmother, Dr. Mary Alice Person LaSaine. She was an important educator for Black students in the early 1900s. He also served in the U.S. Army overseas in 1995.

Reginald Finley's Early Work

Finley once worked as a "phone psychic." He was surprised that people calling him often gave him the answers themselves. He shared what he learned about this at a conference in 2001.

Learning About Critical Thinking

While studying at St. Leo College, Finley became interested in philosophy and religion. He noticed how "bad ideas" and a lack of science knowledge could affect people. He soon began to call himself a freethinker and a critical thinker. This means he likes to question things and use logic.

Starting an Online Show

Finley took a break from school to start his internet radio show. It was called The Infidel Guy Show and ran from 1999 to 2010. The show taught people about science, philosophy, and the importance of thinking for themselves.

His shows, Freethought Radio and The Infidel Guy Show, featured many smart people. These included scientists like Michio Kaku and Richard Dawkins. He also hosted philosophers and other thinkers. Finley created over 600 programs during this time.

Appearing on TV

Finley and his family were on the TV show Wife Swap in 2005. In this show, his wife switched places with the wife of a Christian pastor.

Education and Current Projects

Finley later went back to school. He earned his bachelor's degree from Amridge University in 2011. He then completed his master's degree at SUNY at Buffalo in 2013. He also attended Clemson University in 2016. He is currently working on his doctoral degree at Euclid University.

Helping Others Learn

Finley has two main projects today. One is AmazingLife.Bio. This website teaches students in grades 5 through 12 about the many different kinds of life on Earth. He also offers online tutoring for biology.

His other project is Cancer Cure Scams. This website helps protect cancer patients from dangerous fake treatments. It also teaches people how to understand science properly. Finley currently teaches courses at community colleges in Orlando, Florida.
