History of the Reichshofstadion
The Reichshofstadion was built between 1952 and 1953. When it was first built, it was a multi-purpose stadium. This means it had a running track around the field, not just for football.
How the Stadium Changed
Over time, new stands were built for fans. During this construction, the running track was removed. Now, the Reichshofstadion is mainly a football-only stadium. It is the home ground for both of Lustenau's main football clubs.
Stadium Capacity and Seating
The stadium can hold up to 8,800 people. Out of these, 2,126 seats are covered by a roof. There are also 2,390 covered standing places and 4,284 uncovered standing places. This gives fans many options to watch the games.
The Hugo Kleinbrod Chapel
On August 3, 2007, a special chapel inside the stadium was blessed. Fans of Austria Lustenau can even get married there! The chapel is named after Hugo Kleinbrod. He was a kind person who helped children and orphans after World War II.
Club Colors and Stadium Stands
In May 2011, some supporters of FC Lustenau painted parts of the stadium. They colored the main stand and a ticket booth in their club's color, blue. Before this, these parts were green, which is the color of Austria Lustenau.
