The Planet Pure Stadion is a sports stadium located in Lustenau, Austria. It was built in 1951 and is mainly used for football games. This stadium is the home ground for the football team SC Austria Lustenau.
Before its most recent updates, the stadium could hold 5,138 people. This included 3,094 seats and space for 2,044 standing fans.
Stadium History and Upgrades
The Planet Pure Stadion has a long history, starting with its construction in 1951. Just two years later, in 1953, the stadium got its first proper grandstand for spectators.
Over the years, the stadium has been improved several times. In 1995, the main grandstand was rebuilt. In 2000, a special heating system was added under the natural grass pitch. This helps keep the field in good condition, even in colder weather.
Originally, the stadium also had facilities for athletics, like a running track. However, these were later removed to make space for more stands. Now, it is used almost entirely as a football stadium.
In February 2018, the stadium's name changed from "Reichshofstadion" to "Planet Pure Stadion." This happened because of a sponsorship deal with Planet Pure, a company known for making eco-friendly cleaning products.
Hugo Kleinbrod Chapel
A special feature of the Planet Pure Stadion is the Hugo Kleinbrod Chapel. It opened on August 3, 2007. This makes it the first stadium in Austria to have its very own chapel.
Fans of SC Austria Lustenau can even use the chapel for important life events. For example, they can get married there or have their children baptized right inside the stadium!
