Renato Ibarra's Club Career
Renato Ibarra has played for several football clubs throughout his career. He started his journey in Ecuador before moving to Europe and then back to North and South America.
Early Days at El Nacional
Renato Ibarra spent his youth playing for the Ecuadorian team El Nacional. He made his first professional appearance on May 17, 2009. This was in a game where his team won 3–0 against CD Olmedo.
Ibarra scored his first goal for El Nacional on March 9, 2011. It was a powerful shot from about 30 meters away. This goal helped his team win 1–0 against Independiente Jose Teran. He scored two more goals for El Nacional before moving on. His strong performances in the Ecuadorian Serie A and at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup caught the attention of European clubs. He played 31 games and scored 3 goals for El Nacional.
Playing in Europe with Vitesse
On July 8, 2011, Renato Ibarra joined Vitesse, a club in the Netherlands. He signed a three-year contract with them. His first game for Vitesse was on November 27, 2011, which ended in a 0–0 draw.
He scored his first goal for Vitesse on March 16, 2012, helping his team win 2–0. He scored two more goals that season. By the end of his first year, he had scored 3 goals in 23 league games. He became a regular starter for the team.

On April 20, 2011, Ibarra made his first appearance for the senior national team of Ecuador. This was in a friendly match against Argentina.
