Alex Renato Ibarra Mina (born on January 20, 1991) is a professional footballer from Ecuador. He plays as a winger for the Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle.

Club Journey
Starting with El Nacional
Renato Ibarra began his football journey in the youth teams of the Ecuadorian club El Nacional. He made his first team debut on May 17, 2009, in a 3–0 victory against CD Olmedo.
His first goal for El Nacional came on March 9, 2011. It was a powerful shot from 30 meters away, helping his team win 1–0 against Independiente Jose Teran. He scored two more goals for El Nacional that season. His strong performances in the Ecuadorian Serie A and at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup caught the attention of European clubs. He played 31 games for El Nacional, scoring 3 goals.
Moving to Vitesse
On July 8, 2011, Renato Ibarra signed a three-year contract with the Dutch club Vitesse. He made his debut for Vitesse on November 27, 2011, in a game that ended in a 0–0 draw.
He scored his first goal for Vitesse on March 16, 2012, in a 2–0 win. He scored two more goals that season, finishing with 3 goals in 23 league games. He quickly became a regular player in the team's starting lineup.
In the 2012–13 season, Renato scored the only goal in Vitesse's 1–0 win against FC Zwolle on August 18, 2012. He also helped his teammate Wilfried Bony score goals with his accurate crosses. On December 19, he scored two goals in a big 10–1 cup win. He scored the winning goal in a thrilling 3–2 home game against AFC Ajax on January 27, 2013. He ended that season with 5 goals across all competitions.
He continued to score, getting his first goal of the 2013–14 season in his very first match, helping Vitesse win 3–1 at home.
Time with América
On June 10, 2016, Ibarra joined the Mexican club Club América in a deal worth about US$2 million. He signed a three-year contract. During his time with América, he helped the team win the Apertura 2018 championship. He also played in the finals of the Apertura 2016 and 2019 tournaments. On March 12, 2020, América announced Ibarra would no longer be part of the squad.
Loan to Atlas
On July 3, 2020, Ibarra was loaned to Atlas for one year.
Back to América and Beyond
For the Apertura 2021 tournament, América brought Ibarra back to their team. However, he played only one game before getting an injury that needed surgery. He was out of action for a while after that.
In 2022, he was loaned to Tijuana, and in 2023, he played on loan for L.D.U. Quito. As of 2024, he is playing for Independiente del Valle.
International Play

Renato Ibarra was part of the Ecuadorian team that played in the 2011 South American U-20 Championship. They finished fourth, which qualified them for the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup. In the World Cup, the team reached the round of 16 before being defeated by France.
On April 20, 2011, Ibarra made his first appearance for the senior national team in a friendly match against Argentina.
He also represented Ecuador in major tournaments like the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2015 Copa América. He was considered for the 2016 Copa América Centenario but was not part of the final team.
