The Renault R 312 was a type of bus made by the French company Renault. It was designed for city travel and became quite popular in France. This bus first started carrying passengers in 1987. It took over from an older model called the SC 10. Later, in 1996, the R 312 was replaced by a newer bus known as the Irisbus Agora.
What Powered the R 312?
The Renault R 312 buses used strong engines to move around cities. These engines were:
- A 9.8-liter straight-6 turbodiesel engine, which could produce about 207 horsepower (152 kW).
- Another 9.8-liter straight-6 turbodiesel engine, which was even more powerful, making about 254 horsepower (187 kW).
These engines helped the R 312 to be a reliable and efficient bus for public transport for many years.
