Renfro, Missouri facts for kids
Renfro is a small place in Moniteau County, Missouri, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
History of Renfro
Renfro got its start a long time ago. A special office where people could send and receive mail, called a post office, was opened in Renfro in 1899. It helped people living there stay connected. However, this post office only stayed open for a few years, closing down in 1907.
The community was named after a person named James P. Renfrow. He was the owner, or proprietor, of a local mill. A mill is a building where things like grain are ground into flour, often using power from water. So, Renfro got its name from the person who ran an important business in the area back then!
