Requena is a town in eastern Spain. It is located in the province of Valencia, right next to the Magro River.
This town used to be a strong Moorish fortress long ago. It was built in a powerful spot in the mountains called Las Cabrillas, which are about 1,000 meters high. You can still see parts of the old town walls and the ancient Moorish castle.
Requena has three old churches. The oldest one, San Nicolás, was built in the 13th century. It was fixed up in 1727. Close to the town, there are special sulphur springs called Fuentepodrida.
