Restrepo is a town and a special area called a municipality in the Valle del Cauca Department of Colombia. It was started on December 1, 1913, by Julio Fernandez Medina, Anselmo Rendon Nicanor Grisales, and other people who came to live there. Restrepo became an official municipality on April 3, 1925.

The area around Restrepo is mostly mountainous. The main ways people make a living here are through farming and raising animals. Some of the most important crops grown in Restrepo are bananas, pineapples, sugarcane, beans, other fruits, vegetables, and corn.

Restrepo has a warm and mild climate all year round. The average temperature is about 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit). It does not get too hot or too cold.

The town gets a good amount of rain, especially from April to May and again in October. Even with the rain, there are still many sunny days. This kind of weather is great for growing all the different crops that are important to the area.
