Return to Boggy Creek is a 1977 adventure and horror film directed by Tom Moore. It is the first sequel, or follow-up movie, to The Legend of Boggy Creek. The film stars Dawn Wells and Dana Plato. In the story, Dawn Wells plays a mother whose three children get lost in a swamp during a big storm. A mysterious creature then comes to help them.
This movie is different from the first one because it tells a fictional story. It does not try to be like a documentary. Return to Boggy Creek was followed by three more movies: Boggy Creek II: And the Legend Continues (1985), Boggy Creek: The Legend Is True (2010), and The Legacy of Boggy Creek (2011). The last two were released directly for home viewing, like on DVD or streaming, instead of in movie theaters.
The Story of Return to Boggy Creek
The film's story begins with two men. They go deep into the woods near Boggy Creek. Their goal is to find a creature that looks like Bigfoot. This creature is known as "Big Bay-Ty."
Unknown to the men, three children secretly follow them. As they all explore the swampy area, a big hurricane is about to start. The storm puts everyone in danger. The children soon find themselves lost and needing help.
