Rhonda Byrne was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1951. Her parents were Ronald and Irene Izon. Before writing books, she worked in television. She was an executive producer for different TV shows.

In 2004, her father passed away. This made Byrne feel very sad. Her daughter, Hayley, suggested she read a book called The Science of Getting Rich. This book was written by Wallace D. Wattles in 1910. Reading it gave Byrne the idea for The Secret.

About The Secret

Byrne believes that many famous people throughout history knew about the 'law of attraction'. She has mentioned people like Abraham Lincoln and Ludwig van Beethoven. She also says that modern-day authors and speakers support this idea.
