In 2012, Riann starred in the movie Sket. She played a character named Shaks. Shaks was the girlfriend of a tough character played by Ashley Walters. That same year, Riann also appeared in Doctor Who (series 7). She played the historical figure Queen Nefertiti in an episode.
Riann also played Cleo, a therapist, in the comedy series Lovesick. This show was available on Channel 4 and Netflix. She also appeared in four episodes of NCIS: New Orleans in Season 4. Her character was Sydney Halliday.
In 2021, Riann Steele took on a main role in the NBC drama Debris. She played the character Finola Jones. The first episode of this show was written by J. H. Wyman.
