Ricardo Jaimes Freyre (born May 12, 1868 – died April 24, 1933) was a famous poet from Bolivia. He was born in Peru but became a Bolivian citizen. He is known for his special style of poetry that helped shape a new movement in Latin American writing.

Early Life and Education

His Unique Poetry Style

Freyre's poems were influenced by a style called Symbolism. This means his poems used symbols and images to suggest ideas and feelings, rather than stating them directly. This way of writing was very important for the development of a new style of literature in Latin America called modernism.
