Richard Adjei (born January 30, 1983 – died October 26, 2020) was a talented German athlete. He was famous for his skills in two different sports: bobsleigh and American football. Richard won an Olympic medal in bobsleigh and was also a professional American football player.

Richard Adjei was born in Düsseldorf, West Germany. He grew up to become a strong and fast athlete. He was known for his dedication to sports. Richard sadly passed away in 2020 at the age of 37.
His Bobsleigh Journey
Richard Adjei started competing in bobsleigh in 2007. Bobsleigh is a winter sport where teams race down icy tracks in a special sled. Richard was a "pusher," meaning he helped push the sled at the start to gain speed.
His first big win in the World Cup was in Germany in 2010. He won the two-man event with his driver. Later that year, he competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. There, he won a silver medal in the two-man bobsleigh event.
In 2011, Richard achieved another great success. He won a gold medal at the World Championships. This time, it was in the four-man bobsleigh event. He was the second brakeman for the team.
Playing American Football
Before becoming a bobsledder, Richard Adjei was also a professional American football player. He played as a linebacker. A linebacker is a defensive player who tries to stop the opposing team from gaining yards.
Richard played for several teams during his football career. These included Rhein Fire and Berlin Thunder in the NFL Europe league. He also played for Düsseldorf Panther in the German Football League.
