Richard Wayne Dumas (born May 19, 1969) is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His father, Rich Dumas, was also a basketball player in the American Basketball Association (ABA).

Richard Dumas's Basketball Journey
Richard Dumas, a 6-foot-7-inch small forward, played college basketball at Oklahoma State University. In the 1991 NBA draft, the Phoenix Suns picked him as the 46th choice.
Starting His NBA Career
Before the 1991–92 NBA season began, Dumas played basketball in Israel for a team called Hapoel Holon. He joined the Phoenix Suns during their amazing 1992–93 NBA season. In his first season, he averaged 15.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He helped the Suns win 62 games, which was the best record in the league that year. They even made it to the 1993 NBA Finals. Because of his great start, Dumas was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
Later Years in the NBA
Dumas returned to the Phoenix Suns in 1995. He played 15 games that season, averaging 5.5 points. After that, he played for the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged 6.2 points in 39 games with them. This was his last season playing in the NBA.
Playing Overseas
After his time in the NBA, Richard Dumas continued his basketball career outside the United States. He played for teams in different countries. Some of these teams included Gymnastikos S. Larissas in Greece and Pekaes Pruszków in Poland. He also played for the Westchester Wildfire in the United States Basketball League.
