Richard Gibson is an English actor born on January 1, 1954. He is most famous for playing the character Herr Otto Flick in the popular BBC comedy show, 'Allo 'Allo!.

Discovering Richard Gibson
Richard Gibson was born in Kampala, Uganda. At that time, Uganda was under British rule. He was a talented singer as a child. He sang in the choir at St Paul's Cathedral in London. He also went to school there. Later, he studied acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
A special moment in his life was singing at the funeral of Sir Winston Churchill in 1965. Churchill was a very important leader in British history. Richard was paid a small amount for his singing that day.
Starring in 'Allo 'Allo!
Richard Gibson became very well-known for his role in 'Allo 'Allo!. This comedy series was set during World War II. He played Herr Otto Flick, a German officer. His character was often serious and funny at the same time.
He was a main actor in almost all the seasons of the show. The series was very popular around the world. After the TV show, 'Allo 'Allo! was also made into a stage play. Richard toured with the cast, performing the show live. This allowed him to show another skill: playing the violin.
