Richard Hammond's Blast Lab was an exciting game show for children. It was shown on TV from January 3, 2009, to October 6, 2011. You could watch it on BBC Two, then on the CBBC Channel, and later on BBC One. The show's host was the famous Richard Hammond.

About Richard Hammond's Blast Lab

Richard Hammond's Blast Lab was a fun science show. It was all about experiments and challenges. The show mixed science with lots of explosions and messy fun. Richard Hammond, known for his love of exciting stunts, brought his energy to the lab.

How the Show Works

In each episode, two teams of three children competed. They were called the Red Team and the Yellow Team. These teams took part in different science challenges. The goal was to win points and exciting prizes.

At the end of the show, the winning team got their prizes. But there was a twist for the losing team! Their prizes would often be blown up in a spectacular way. This made the final moments very exciting.

Fun Characters in the Lab

The show had several memorable characters who helped (or sometimes hindered!) the experiments.

The Lab Rats

Richard Hammond had loyal helpers called "Lab Rats." These characters wore special lab coats that were half red and half yellow. The Lab Rats were always involved in the show's stunts. They often did the dangerous parts of the experiments. They also liked to complain a lot around the lab, which was quite funny.

Ninja Nan

"Ninja Nan" was the Blast Lab's security guard. She was a quiet character who never spoke. Each episode started with a funny reason why the usual guards were not there. Ninja Nan would then step in. She also showed off the prizes for both the winning and losing teams.

Mini-Miss

Another special character was "Mini-Miss." She was a young girl who wore a lab coat and glasses. Mini-Miss appeared in a round called 'Mini-Science with Mini-Miss'. Richard Hammond explained that Mini-Miss was actually his old science teacher. He tried to bring her back in time, but something went wrong. She arrived as a child, even though she was an adult before.

Mini-Miss was very smart and didn't like silly mistakes. She often told Richard Hammond off for not paying attention. She would then give the teams helpful advice for their science challenges.

Oliver the Car

Richard Hammond's special 1963 Opel Kadett car, named "Oliver," also appeared on the show. This car is very important to him. He got Oliver during a special TV adventure.
