Richard John "Mack" Machowicz (born May 30, 1965 – died January 2, 2017) was an American Navy SEAL. He was also known for hosting the TV show Future Weapons on the Discovery Channel and Military Channel. Later, he joined the show Deadliest Warrior on Spike.

Early Life and Military Career
Richard Machowicz was born in 1965 in Detroit, Michigan. He joined the United States Navy in 1985. He became a Navy SEAL after completing a very tough training program. This program is called Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training. He finished his training in February 1986.
After more training, he earned the Special Warfare insignia. This is a special badge also known as the "SEAL Trident." It shows he was a trained combat swimmer.
Mack Machowicz was part of SEAL Team ONE and SEAL Team TWO. He took part in many important missions. While with SEAL Team TWO, he was a special scout and sniper. He also helped train other SEALs in land, mountain, and arctic warfare.
After leaving the Navy, Machowicz continued to teach and inspire people.
Teaching Self-Defense and Strength
He started the Bukido Institute and the Bukido Training System. This system taught people how to defend themselves without weapons. It also helped them learn to deal with challenges like doubt, fear, and stress. He believed that learning to fight could help people become mentally stronger.
Mack also worked as a personal protection specialist. This means he was a bodyguard for important people. He protected people in politics, business, and entertainment.

Machowicz became well-known for his work on television. He hosted Future Weapons, where he showed off new military technology. He also appeared on Deadliest Warrior, where experts compared different fighters and weapons from history.
He also wrote a book called Unleash the Warrior Within. In his book, he shared his ideas about mental toughness and personal growth.
Later Years and Legacy
Richard Machowicz passed away on January 2, 2017, at the age of 51. He died from brain cancer in Pearland, Texas. He was survived by his wife, Mandy, his two daughters, and his parents.
Even though he was Catholic, Machowicz also followed Zen Buddhism. He was even an ordained Buddhist priest. He left behind a legacy of strength, discipline, and teaching others to be their best.
