Richardson Hitchins was born on September 26, 1997. He is an American professional boxer. Since December 2024, he has held the International Boxing Federation (IBF) light welterweight championship title. This means he is considered one of the best boxers in his weight class by the IBF.

Early Boxing Days
Richardson Hitchins started boxing as an amateur. This means he boxed for fun and experience, not for money. He got to represent Haiti at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. His parents are from Haiti, and he chose to box for their home country. At the Olympics, he competed against another boxer named Gary Antuanne Russell.
Becoming a Pro Boxer
After his amateur career, Richardson Hitchins became a professional boxer. This means he now boxes for a living. He has worked with some big names in boxing. He is currently with Matchroom Boxing. Before that, he was with Mayweather Promotions, a company started by the famous boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr..

Hitchins Wins a World Title
On December 7, 2024, Richardson Hitchins had his biggest fight yet. He challenged Liam Paro for his IBF light-welterweight title in Puerto Rico. This was a fight for a world championship! Hitchins won the fight by a "split decision." This means that two judges thought Hitchins won, but one judge thought Liam Paro won. Because two judges picked Hitchins, he became the new IBF light-welterweight champion!
