Richelle Carey (born October 13, 1971) is an American journalist who reports the news on TV. She has worked as a news anchor for big channels like Al Jazeera English and was also an anchor for Al Jazeera America. Before that, she was a news anchor for HLN.

Richelle Carey was born in Houston, Texas, on October 13, 1971. Her mother is a nurse who helps teenagers in neighborhoods where people might not have a lot of money. Richelle first went to Smith College. Later, she graduated from Baylor University in Texas. There, she earned a special degree in telecommunications, which is about how people communicate using technology like TV and radio.
Her Career Journey
Richelle Carey started her TV career as an intern at KPRC-TV in Houston, Texas. An intern is someone who works to gain experience. She was later promoted to be an associate producer at the station. This means she helped put together the news shows.
After leaving KPRC, Richelle worked as a reporter and anchor in different states. She worked in Texas, Nevada, and Missouri. She then moved to Atlanta to work for HLN. At HLN, she focused on stories about women and children who had faced difficult situations. She interviewed many famous women, including singers like Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson, and Chaka Khan. She also hosted a weekly show called "What Matters." This show talked about important issues for the African-American community.
Richelle was well-known for her reporting from Fort Hood in Texas. She also spent a week in Bosnia. There, she reported on the important work of soldiers from the 1st US Cavalry.
In 2013, Richelle became one of the first news anchors for Al Jazeera America. When that channel closed in 2016, she moved to Doha, Qatar. She became a presenter for Al Jazeera English. She was one of the few people from Al Jazeera America who continued working for Al Jazeera. In 2020, she was a temporary host for the show UpFront on Al Jazeera English.
In 2020, Richelle Carey left Al Jazeera and moved back to the United States.
