Richilda was an important countess who lived a long time ago. She was born around the year 895. Richilda was the Countess of Barcelona, Girona, and Ausona. These were important areas in what is now Spain. She held this title from at least 917 until her husband retired in 947.
Richilda's Life and Family
Richilda became Countess when she married Sunyer, Count of Barcelona. They were married by 917, but it might have been even earlier. She was likely the daughter of Raymond II, Count of Toulouse. Her family was from the House of Toulouse, a powerful noble family.
