Rick Talan (born November 3, 1960 – died September 30, 2015) was a talented Dutch football player. He was known for being a fast and strong attacker, scoring many goals during his career.

Playing for Football Clubs
Rick Talan started his football journey with a local amateur team called Katwijk. He then joined a professional club, AZ'67, in 1978.
Success at AZ'67
At AZ'67, Rick was a very important player. He scored 44 goals in 95 official matches for the club. He was also part of the team that won the club's first ever Eredivisie title in 1981. The Eredivisie is the highest football league in the Netherlands.
During the 1983–84 Eredivisie season, Rick had an amazing year. He scored 20 goals in 33 league games for AZ. This showed how good he was at finding the back of the net.
Playing in Belgium
In 1982, Rick Talan spent half a year playing for a Belgian team called Cercle Brugge. While there, he scored two goals in 14 official matches. This experience allowed him to play football in another country.
Finishing His Career
Rick Talan finished his professional football career in 1988. His last club was Vitesse Arnhem, where he played almost 100 games. He left a great mark on the teams he played for.
Rick's Life Outside Football
Rick Talan had a younger brother named Jeffrey. Jeffrey also became a professional football player. He even played for the Dutch national team eight times.
After his football career, Rick Talan owned a company. It was an accountancy company located in a town called Zevenaar.
Health Challenges and Passing
In 2007, Rick Talan faced a serious health challenge. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had two operations to treat it. Sadly, the tumor returned a year later. Rick Talan passed away in September 2015.
