Riggins is a small, unincorporated community located in Monroe County, Mississippi, in the United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
History of Riggins
Riggins is found near a waterway called Splunge Creek. This creek is a smaller stream that flows into the larger Buttahatchee River.
A long time ago, in the year 1900, Riggins was a very small place. Only 22 people lived there at that time.
Riggins even had its own post office for a while! It was open from 1886 until 1906, helping people send and receive mail in the community.
