Rikuto Tamai (Japanese: 玉井 陸斗 Tamai Rikuto) is a talented Japanese diver. He was born on September 11, 2006. Rikuto made history by winning Japan's very first Olympic medal in diving. This amazing achievement happened at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Becoming a Diving Star

Rikuto Tamai started making headlines in the diving world at a young age. He quickly showed incredible skill and dedication to the sport.

Youngest National Champion

In April 2019, Rikuto achieved a big milestone. He became the youngest ever national indoor diving champion in Japan. This meant he was the best diver in the country for indoor events. Just a few months later, in September of the same year, he broke another record. He became the youngest national diving champion overall. These wins showed everyone his bright future in diving.

Competing at the Olympics

Rikuto Tamai was one of the youngest athletes from Japan to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. These Games were held in Tokyo. It was a huge experience for him to compete on such a big stage.

Paris 2024 Success

At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Rikuto achieved his biggest dream. He competed in the men's 10 meter platform event. This is where divers jump from a 10-meter high board. Rikuto performed incredibly well, earning a score of 507.65 points.

His fantastic performance won him a silver medal. This was a historic moment for Japan. It was the country's first-ever Olympic medal in diving. Rikuto Tamai's achievement made him a national hero.
