Rimma Vasilievna Markova (Russian: Римма Васильевна Маркова; born March 3, 1925 – died January 15, 2015) was a famous Russian film actress. She was known for her strong and memorable roles in many movies. In 1994, she received a very special award called People's Artist of Russia. This award is given to actors who have done amazing work for their country's art. Her younger brother, Leonid Markov, was also a famous actor. He received an even higher award, People's Artist of the USSR, in 1985.

Starting Out in Theatre
Rimma Markova started acting when she was very young. From 1931 to 1934, she played small parts in the Saratov Dramatic Theatre. Her father worked there, which helped her get started.
Later, from 1945 to 1947, Rimma studied acting more formally. She attended a special school linked to the Vologda Dramatic Theatre. She studied there with her brother, Leonid. These early experiences helped her become the talented actress she was.
