A Look at Ringgold's Past
Ringgold has a bit of history, especially when it comes to mail! A post office was open in Ringgold for over sixty years. It first opened its doors on December 1, 1906. People in the area could send and receive their mail there for many decades.
However, the post office eventually closed on August 11, 1967. The community got its name from a group of early settlers. They came from another place called Ringold in Dawson County, which was a town that no longer exists today. They named their new home after their old one.
