River Junction is a small place in Johnson County, Iowa, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
History
This community got its name because it's located where two rivers meet. This meeting point is called a "confluence". The English River and the Iowa River come together right here.
River Junction was started in the year 1873. In 1902, only 42 people lived in River Junction. The number of people living there was still 42 in 1940.
