How Riviera Became Part of Bullhead City

Riviera was one of the three main communities that helped create the city of Bullhead City in 1984. The other two were the original Bullhead City area and Holiday Shores.

When Bullhead City officially became a city in 1984, Riviera was actually bigger! About 3,000 people lived in Riviera, while only about 1,000 people lived in the original Bullhead City area. Before they became one city, Bullhead City and Riviera were counted together as one large area.

Where Is Riviera Located?

Riviera is located on a piece of land that sticks out into the Colorado River. This land is like a big curve in the river. Right across the river from Riviera, you can see Nevada's Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area. It's a beautiful spot!

If you visit Riviera, you can check out Rotary Park. This park is located at the southern end of the community and is a great place to play and relax.
