Robert Brown, born on March 11, 1984, is an American actor. He is famous for his roles in several movies. These include Finding Forrester (2000) and Coach Carter (2005). He also starred in the TV shows Treme (2010–2013) and Blindspot (2015–2020).

Robert Brown was born in Harlem, New York. This was on March 11, 1984. He grew up in Brooklyn with two siblings. His mother worked as a counselor.
Brown went to Poly Prep Country Day School. He also attended Prep for Prep. While in school, he played football as a wide receiver. He later went to Amherst College. He managed to study and act at the same time. Before his first big movie, Finding Forrester, his only acting experience was a school play.

When Rob Brown was 16, he tried out for the movie Finding Forrester. He thought he would just be an extra in the film. But the director, Gus Van Sant, saw something special in him. Van Sant chose Brown to play Jamal Wallace. Jamal was a high school basketball player in the movie.
Brown made his acting debut in this 2000 film. He acted alongside the famous actor Sean Connery. Critics really liked Brown's performance. Some even said he shined more than his experienced co-star. Reviewers noted that Brown held his own very well next to Connery. They also said the two actors had great chemistry on screen.
More Movie Roles
In 2005, Brown played Kenyon Stone in the drama film Coach Carter. He acted with Samuel L. Jackson in this movie. A film critic, A. O. Scott, said Brown had a strong performance. The next year, he was in the dance movie Take the Lead. He played Jason "Rock" Rockwell, a high school student. This movie also starred Antonio Banderas and Alfre Woodard.
Brown then played the real-life football player Ernie Davis. This was in the 2008 movie The Express: The Ernie Davis Story.
Television Appearances
In 2010, Rob Brown got his first TV role. He played Delmond Lambreaux, a jazz musician, in the show Treme. He was on this show until it ended in 2013. Later, Brown joined the NBC show Blindspot. From 2015 to 2020, he played FBI Special Agent Edgar Reade.

A Misunderstanding at a Store
In 2013, Rob Brown had a confusing experience at a department store. He was buying a watch for his mother. Store staff thought his credit card was not real. They arrested him, but he was later released. It turned out his American Express card was perfectly valid. The store had made a mistake and did not check his card properly. Brown later reached an agreement with the store about this incident.
