What Happened at Macy's?
In 2013, Rob Brown was involved in an incident at a Macy's store in New York City. He was buying a watch for his mother. Store staff thought his credit card might be fake. They called the police, and he was arrested. However, it turned out his American Express card was real. He was released, and no charges were filed against him.
It seemed that Macy's staff became suspicious. This might have been because of the watch's price, his age, or his background. But they did not properly check his credit card with American Express or look at his driver's license. Rob Brown later reached an agreement with Macy's and New York City about this incident.
